How do I get my mother cat to adopt an abandoned 1 day old kitten?
My mother cat has 3 week old kittens and we found a kitten just born and abandoned how do I get my mother cat to adopt jt?

You can put the kitten down in the room and see if the mother takes to it. If she gets upset then you can try mingling scents. Get a warm face cloth, wipe mom down, then wipe her kittens down, then wipe the new kitten down, and then wipe her kittens again (to get the new kitten's scent on them) and see if that works. If she is still upset you can try confusing her sense of smell by using a small amount of vanilla on all of the kittens.
Most of the times mother kittens will take on strange kittens. Cats generally will form communities to nurse kittens. If your mother cat was used to other cats, she will probably just take it.
If she becomes aggressive to the kitten, stop trying. It is not worth the risk to the kitten or her own kittens.
